We all want to be verified on Instagram. It’s the ultimate bragging right for social media users, but it can also do a lot for your following and business success. In this blog post, we will give 10 tips that have helped us get verified on Instagram (and 10 tips that haven’t). If you follow these 10 steps you should find yourself with an official blue checkmark in no time!
1. Follow The Instagram Rules
Make sure you follow the rules when using Instagram. In order to maintain a safe environment, there are many guidelines that need to be followed including never posting anything illegal or containing nudity without first asking for permission from your child and their parent/guardian.
There is also a list of 10 Instagram rules that you need to follow.
- Don’t use profanity or post nudity without first asking for permission from your child and their parent/guardian.
- Respect the audience and create content appropriate for both genders, ages 18+, religions, cultures, races etc. Keep in mind that not everyone will be interested in your niche.
- Don’t use hashtags that have been used 10,000 times already or are too generic. Focus on using 10 – 20 new and different tags for each post.
- Avoid spammy words such as “cheap” or “buy now”. You want to build an audience not a list of spam subscribers.
- Stay away from emoji tags and stick to 10 – 20 new and different hashtags per post.
- Don’t use the same hashtag on consecutive posts or for every post in general as it can get annoying to your followers, especially if you’re not someone they follow already.
If you follow these 10 rules you will be much more likely to get verified quickly because they won’t have any reason to deny your request!
2. Use Hashtags To Get More Likes And Comments
As you probably already know, hashtags are essentially keywords that make it easier for your post to show up in the Instagram feed and be seen by others. When you use a hashtag on Instagram, other users who search or browse through these hashtags will find your content. More people will see your content because of this keyword association! So, it’s a good strategy to find the 10 hashtags that are most relevant for your niche and use them on posts regularly.
Using the right hashtags can get you more likes and comments on your Instagram posts. A good way to find what will work best for a particular post is by taking note of how many people are using that hashtag with their own pictures, which means it’s worth trying out!
Find success by incorporating relevant hashtags when posting new content in order to increase engagement. By looking at other users’ photos under this tag, identify popular topics or themes that might be related to yours so as not to make sure there isn’t any overlap between your audience base and theirs!
3. Engage With Other Users By Liking Their Photos, Commenting On Them, Or Following Them Back
Liking, commenting on, and following other users’ posts are great ways to interact with your followers. You can also share photos from their feed by liking them!
Likes, comments or follows are all ways that you can communicate with others through social media platforms like Instagram. Commenting is the best option if you want more of an in-depth discussion about what someone posted while you like, allow for quick feedback without adding much commentary at all so it’s up to which type of interaction suits your needs better.
The more you engage with other users, the better your experience on social media will be.
The best part about engaging others via photos or posts is how it provides another layer of interaction outside commenting in chat boxes! There’s no need to repeat what was said when liking a photo because there is already text from the original poster available.
Commenting can also add lengthier responses as well as help break up longer conversations without having to constantly delete messages like they would become cluttered otherwise–keeping each one separately helps keep things organized within chats too so everyone knows which message relates specifically to which post.
As well as being a great way to meet new people, engaging others can also help promote your brand by getting more followers yourself! Instagram likes and comments are the easiest ways to do this because they’re both free–you don’t even have to follow someone back in order for them to see you’ve liked their photo or comment (but following them back is also a great way to get more followers in the long run).
4. Post Regularly – At Least Once A Day If Possible
Posting on Instagram is a great way to keep your followers engaged and coming back for more of your content. The problem with posting regularly, however, is that it can be difficult to come up with 10 new posts every week. One rule you might want to follow is to always post at least once per day if possible. This will help in the long run and will also help you gain more followers.
The more you post, the higher your engagement rate will be! You know what that high-energy feeling a single like on an update causes? Well multiply it by one thousand and then think about how good you feel when someone likes two consecutive posts.
5. Include Your Location In The Caption So People Can See Where You’re From And What You’re Doing
If you want to get verified on Instagram, then it’s a good idea to include your location in the caption so people can see where you’re from and what you’re doing. This will help them make sure that it is really who they think it might be before pressing the follow button or liking an image. The more information about yourself that you share on your Instagram profile, the better.
6. Keep Your Posts Interesting By Posting Pictures Of Food, Pets, Scenery, Etc
You’re probably familiar with the old saying “A picture is worth a thousand words”. Well, when it comes to social media posts it’s true. Make sure you post pictures of things that interest your followers and keep them engaged on what they can expect from following you.
It doesn’t matter how many thousands of rambling words we type into our tiny screens every day – nothing will be as interesting to people as something visual like food or pets. Use colors in captions so people know which photos are related without clicking through all their feeds just to find out.
Make sure to post a variety of pictures, not just selfies. The more interesting the better.
7. Make Use Of Filters For That Perfect Look Every Time!
Filters can be an absolute lifesaver when it comes to taking the perfect selfie. However, Not all filters are created equally – some make your skin look flawless while others turn you into a clown.
One thing many people don’t know about Instagram is that the filters are not just for fun. Oftentimes, they can be used to make your pictures pop and stand out more on a busy feed! Whether you’re using one of their 10 default filter options or uploading your own, it’s worth playing around with them in order to see what works best for your content.
Luckily for us, there’s a filter that does wonders with our photos: The Natural Filter. With this one simple step, we’re able to edit out any blemishes and caked-on makeup without sacrificing natural-looking results or creating scary Instagram horror stories like panda eyes or zombie’s face.
If you’re not into filters or feel like they mask your natural beauty, that’s OK too! It can sometimes be just as easy to add a filter later on in post-production with apps such as Facetune.
8. Add Your Phone Number To Make It Easier For People To Contact You About Collaborating With You Or Sending A DM (Direct Message)
You can make it easier for people to contact you by adding your phone number so it is available in the “contact” section of your profile. That way, instead of having to go through a DM (direct message), they just have to click on that and send their text or call without making any new contacts.
If you don’t want people to see your phone number, there is an option that will show a 10-digit SMS message. You can also uncheck the “show my mobile phone” box if it’s checked so they won’t know for sure what type of device you are using.
The downside to this tip though is that you have to change your number every time you get a new device.
9 . Know When To Stop- Don’t Overpost Too Much And Don’t Post Anything Inappropriate
Strangely enough, social media is the cause of a lot of anxiety. Every time we post to our Instagram or Facebook page there’s always this fear that someone could comment with something hurtful and even though they have every right to share their opinion it still feels like an attack on us sometimes.
But here is my advice: know when you’re over-posting so people don’t get annoyed by your constant content in one day- nobody likes being inundated with pictures from you all at once!
“It’s a tricky balance: you want to post enough content so your page isn’t too stagnant, but at the same time don’t overpost and make it difficult for people who follow you to keep up. Think of it like having conversations with friends- if they aren’t able to pay attention or get in on every conversation that’s happening then maybe back off a bit.
And also make sure not to post anything inappropriate because chances are somebody will screenshot that and send it along without consent which just isn’t cool if posting those types of things was against some sort of agreement beforehand (which I’m guessing might be).
10. Get Verified On Instagram By Completing An Application Form
Instagram has an application form that you can fill out to get verified on Instagram. To do so, go to the business website, and scroll down until you see a link for “Verify My Business.” Click it then follow the instructions provided.
If you’re unable to complete the application form, there are ways that may help speed up the process. For example, if your account has 10K+ followers or 10M+, then Instagram will likely give it priority over other accounts with a smaller following (including those who applied months before). However, don’t get discouraged! There’s still a chance you’ll be verified if your account has 10K followers or 10M+, so keep doing what you’re doing and applying to Instagram’s verification process.
Verified users on Instagram can get access to exclusive features, which may include posting publicly and viewing trending stories.
If you’re unable to get verified by completing Instagram’s application form, there are still other ways for your account to be seen.
For example, reach out to a celebrity or influencer and ask them if they would like to collaborate with you on an Instagram post in exchange for verification. 10K+ followers are the minimum required number of followers for this to happen, and 10K+ must be divided across different accounts.
